2006MAY5 Left Ocala, Florida after work. Here's Nate at the meeting spot in Gainesville, as well as a round-headlight Peterbilt near the Georgia border. We found a motel a little north of Athens off of US 129 for the night.

2006MAY6 After starting out, we headed to the BMW rally in Hiawassee, Georgia. Next was lunch at the Jarrett House in Sylva, North Carolina, then off to look at the view from Mount Mitchell.

Headed north the rest of the day and ended up in Newland, North Carolina for the night, but not before finding Bobby's fan club.

2006MAY7 Sunday was horrible, very close to hell I'd guess. Temperatures were in at most the 50's and it was raining. We left Newland and headed for some lower land hoping for warmer temperatures (which ruined the plan of heading north), but didn't have much luck. We called it quits, after eating at Wendell's, in King's Mountain on the South and North Carolina border, in Gastonia, North Carolina.

2006MAY8 Monday was pretty good. We headed back north to get a Deal's Gap ride in. Here we are filling up at a gas station on the corner of NC 28 and US 74. I didn't get a pic, but this place has two toilets right next to each other in the bathroom, unseparated.

Here's the gas station at Deal's Gap, awfully packed for a non-weekend, and an on-bike clip of me. An excellent road.

After Deal's Gap, we headed for the Cherohala (CHEROkee-NantaHALA) Skyway, also great fun. Mostly tight sweepers, much fun at about 70 or 80.

After the Cherahala, we took TN 68 to US 74 and stayed the night in Murphy, North Carolina.

2006MAY9 Nothing real exciting on Tuesday, we just started the ride back to home. We had to get a new tire for Nate's R1 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The dealership also had this wierd PTO-equipped quad.

We spent the night in Madison Georgia.

2006MAY10 Got back to Ocala at around 230 with Dad. Nate split off in the morning to head to Cumming Georgia to visit Cody.
